Writer Jackie Blackwood gives an overview of the areas they have visited on their travels round the country, arranged in geographical order as they work their way down the South Island from Banks Peninsula to Bluff, and back up the West Coast to the North Island, ending at Cape Reinga. The book is not only focussed on nature however, but also features fascinating accounts of people from all walks of life who they meet along the way.
