about the authors
Linda Bercusson was for many years on staff with the Department of Conservation, first as a journalist and later developing award-winning conservation engagement programmes for Auckland’s thriving ethnic communities. She is now kept busy as a freelance writer and project manager in Auckland.
John Walsby is a well-known Auckland naturalist with particular expertise in marine sciences. A superb communicator of scientific information, he was for many years the author of a popular column in the New Zealand Herald. He is based in Leigh in North Auckland.
